Homeschooler’s Holiday Program
Mixed Media Drawing & Characters
Monday 20 January | 11 am - 3:30 pm
Held at Norton Summit Baptist Church
Join Alex for this exciting mixed media drawing class for teens aged 12-18!
In this hands-on session students will explore a range of materials from coloured pencil and charcoal to watercolour, and collage. They will also be shown some new ways to design unique fictional characters, building eye-catching visual designs and engaging backstories.
The first half of the session will focus on fun, step-by-step projects where students can explore different drawing materials, learn to combine textures and colours, and discover how to express their unique artistic voices.
The second half of the session will focus on students creating one or more final drawings using their preferred material/s. This part of the day will allow students to take what they’ve learnt during the morning in a more self directed project, with Alex around to guide and assist :) They will have the option to flesh out their characters further or create art based on their own interests.
Perfect for all skill levels, this class encourages experimentation and fosters creativity in a supportive, inspiring environment.
Minimum of 7 students - Maximum of 12

Sketchbook, sketch kit (pencils, erasers, pens, scissors + glue stick, pretty much whatever is in your pencil case), a packed lunch + snacks.
