Art of Reconciliation

Bearded Dragon Gallery | 1 July - 6 August 2021

ABOUT

'The Art of Reconciliation' was a powerful collaborative project shared between the Cities of Charles Sturt and Port Adelaide Enfield.

This exhibition is about bringing all Australians together, to explore the beautiful connections and shared stories through art, and to celebrate the culture and achievements of Aboriginal people.

The Art of Reconciliation follows eight local First Nations people as they are each paired with an artist to tell their stories and experiences of reconciliation through the creation of portraits. The portraits were then exhibited, along with a screening of the documentary, during Reconciliation Week 2021, before embarking on a 12-month tour of South Australian galleries.

The Art of Reconciliation was produced with the support of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and City of Charles Sturt by C44 and crewed by First Nations interns Kiara Milera, Keith Gilbey-Warrior, Rick Hutcheson and Anil Samy as part of C44’s partnership with the SAFC and the First Nations Screen Strategy 2020-2025.
